for a bang for the buck build.i'm sure it will be mdf.

i asked around last year about a simple fiberglass box for my 10 and the lowest would have been 500.the highest was 900.one guy said i cant give you a price till i'm done.

and that box would only have had fiberglass on the backside of it to fit in the back corner of my jimmy.

    1.25 of so cu ft

keep it simple and just have a big box made with the subs firing up.

BTW this set up hits in the mid 150's,and he still has his rear seat.

well if u plan on doing the box yourself i think it ill be better w/ mdf cuz its easier, and it costs a lot less...but the fiberglass boxes look insane in a car

if you want "bang for your buck"i dont recomend fiberglass.
theres nothing wrong with it.its just expensive.

    MDF= medium density fiberboard.

the brand is up to you and your wallet.go to some car shops and look around.most good shops have demo rooms or demo cars.take i listen.

if anything DO SOME RESEARCH!!i couldnt tell you how many people ive met that spent way too much for equipment and an install only to say"i should have shopped around more"or just bought crap equipment due to it's low price.

well, is there any advantages for fiberglass versus a ported box?

fiberglass has nothing to do with whether the box is sealed or ported.its just another matirial that it could be made of.

go get some estimates on how much a fiberglass box will cost compared to one made of mdf

a fiberglas box will cost bout 4 times more than an mdf box and perhaps even more

thanks for clearing that up, so the box to go with is MDF made one.

On the other hand, any suggestions on a brand i should invest in? I read on this forum, polk audio seemes to be supported by many.

would it be better go to with all the same brand or would it be better to go with same type of mids and highs and a diff brand of subs.

anyone here have 15's that was worth the money? And the mtx 15's, any say on those?

so 6 15's at 4 ohms each will run at 1.5 ohm mono.
