I have 2 subs that I would like to hook up in my truck, one is a 10" Pioneer(TS-W254C)and the other is a 12' Orion(XTR 12 DVC) I want to get a half way decent amp without going broke. Nothing too over the top. The Orion is the want I would like to hook up but if I need an amp that is too much cost wise then I will go with the pioneer. If someone can let me know which way to go on both speakers so I can compare I would appreciate. I suck when it comes to knowing ohms and such to figure out what amps to get. Thanks in advance
you dont plan on using booth sub together do you? as far as amps go you need to know the rms and impedance of the sub you plan on using. no need to get a 1000 watt amp if your sub only handles 4~500 watts. likewise on the impedance. get an amp that puts out just what the sub can handle. a little over is ok, just not too much over. also a lil under is just as ok too. one more ?. whats your budget?
No I probably will use the 10" based on my budget now that I think about it. I was just wondering which was better to use. I know the orion is 800 watts rms and 4 ohm dvc. the pioneer is 250 watts 4 ohm impp. I also am confused about whether I need to build a ported box or sealed.
