I would run at least 2 gauge wire for 1500 rms. Do the big three. Maybe a higher output alternator and you will be set.

the amp see's what ever load you show it.8,4,2,1.3,1,.05,.25.what ever.now can it handle the load you give it is the question.

that amp is 1 ohm stable and the subs are DUAL 4 ohm , so you can wire it to a 1ohm load.

sweet. I guess I'll just have to learn to do that. I read in my other subs manual how to hook it up to be 2ohm stable. It's kinda confusing until you get it in your car and see it in action what your doing.

if its sealed.. whatever you feed it it will play. Ported boxes are a bit louder but sealed boxes are not built for one specific frequency so it won't lack anywhere. The only restriction on it now is the driver itself.

I would rather prefer one 12 in a nice ported box...L7s from my experience can play up pretty high.

I've heard an L7 in a sealed box vs. ported...sealed doesn't appeal to me for em...ported is where they shine

my L5 is in a ported box and it really moves.i used to have it in a sealed box too both sound great but the ported gets deeper.

with jazz and blues it really shines.if your into that kind of music.

Isn't ported vs sealed a personal preference? I remember looking up views on ported vs sealed and came to alot of forums and the topic had lots of replies.

i guess your right.i've had ported, bandpass, and sealed.i liked the sealed and ported.the bandpass was a 1 note wonder.best for rap only.

my only advice is to try and demo both formats in a car.most good shops have some demo cars or at best an employes vehicle or two.and bring music you listen to.it helps.

bandpass boxes can actually sound very musical and sound good if designed and build correctly...far from prefab crap bandpass boxes

yes i agree. i had the worst experience with one. The screws kept coming out and the cover would vibrate. The worst experience i had with sealed was a sub fell out, but that was because of the bad screws i picked out.

will they last as long running them like this? my friend says they wont hold long but he dont really know his stuff as he only gets half the info and ignores the rest.

im looking up info on the L7's and i see a lot of people talking about porting them for competitions. I hate talking about the differences between ported and sealed because my ears suck for that stuff. I had 2 audiobahns and i liked them better in the sealed box rather then the ported box. Although the ported box was pre-fab. i had to get my cousin or my friends in the car to tell the quick difference between the boxes. Im sorry

I found this site http://www.spkrman.com/ from a previous post from aznboi. THANKS. Depending on the price of my quote I might buy one from there. Maybe if I want i can drive to go get it depending on where its at and if they accept local pickup.
