Pedro...you have things wrong...if he is playing a sine wave than yes that would be rms power. But with music it is too dynamic to get an accurate reading...that number is a peak burst...now if he played a sine wave the results would be different
Viking shut up lol I was just saying that with music you can't really get an accurate reading of the amps power...is this not true??
lol, i downloaded all the sine waves and test sweeps will burn it to cd today. Also i made the 45 hz sine wave into a solid 4 mins so i won't have to be running back and forth to measure, it is only 5 secs or whatever originally.
my bad azn your right.its rms.so at 50 hz my amp is doing 735.i kmow it will do more though.thats scary.lol
Pedro...the gain is not a volume knob...so to truely know how much power it can put out you need to find an oscilliscope...go to one of your local shops and see if they have one. But over 700 watts is quite impressive lol
lol I know...pedro...have you gotten your sh!t metered?? I and go ahead and turn that gain up to about half way man...that sub can take it...lol
Crank her up pedro i just use my gains as a volumes haha. Everyone is looking at me now when i'm driving lol, not sure if i like that. I put the 45 hz sine wave and could only turn it up to like 12 on my deck and it goes to 62 and then the sound changes from there up but i can't tell if it's my factory speakers or the subs changing, everything is blasting away. I measured 17 volts though at 45hz at that volume. I have the deck now so i only turn it up to 26-30 on the volume and shes pumping. Anything over that it gets distorted. My eq and sub control were set how i like it also when i measured so i think that's why i couldn't turn it up much, that wave is pretty powerfull. I will back off the gains though on the amp at least to 3/4 and go from there.
I think i can unplug all the factory speakers pretty easily in the trunk, maybe i should do that then just try with only the subs hooked up and maybe with a higher frequency so it will be easier for me to hear it change.
haha yeah i know what you mean. when i got my first system i didnt get wire (got the system from a friend) so i went to the hardware store and they looked at my funny buying 20feet of wire
