cool Orion XTR 900.2 Power Ratings -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 225 x 2 watts @ 4 ohms RMS 450 x 2 watts @ 2 ohms RMS 900 x 1 watts @ 4 ohms RMS
ugh, sorry for all the questions, should i measure the voltage with the sine wave playing or music playing
no. the wave.music would just bounce the voltage up and down. i did a voltage check on my M50 some time back with a 50hz tone and got 39.3 volts.at 2 ohms mono.my sub actually read 2.1 ohms.so anyways with azn's help i figured it to 735 watts. not bad from an amp rated at 50x2 or 245x1 mono 4ohms. on a side note when i turned the gain up some more(it's at 1/4 now)it really peaked at 43 volts but i backed it off.was WAY TOO much, and that was just over 1/2.(figured it at 880 watts) i wonder what it will do at full gain?and that amp is tiny compaired to it's big brother the M100.it's rated to put out 500x1.what do you think that thing can do?http://www.soundbuggy.com/Eric/Car Audio/phoenix_gold/m_series/m100/index.html
cool, those look like nice amps. I just went out for a coffee and brought my meter out with me, the music playing at the level i usually listen to it jumps up and down but the highest ac voltage is between 35 to 40 volts, i turned it a bit louder than i usually would put it just to see the difference and it hit 45 volts per channel. I didn't get a chance to burn the cd with the sine wave yet.
MAN!! thats 506.25 watts at 4 ohms.per channel.thats WAY underratted. http://www.realmofexcursion.com/videos.html go to downloads.unless you already found this site.then just forget i said anything.lol
ya.azn told me square the voltage, then divide the ohm load. mine was 39.3voltsx39.3=1544.49.then divided by 2.1 ohms=735.47 watts
lol, that's a little nuts...I was wondering how this amp was kicking so hard and was only supposed to be half power according to the specs.
**** then wire it to 8 ohm mono and you will still be pushing a ton of power.that way the amp will only work half as hard and not burn up too fast.
oh i have an idea.wire your 2 subs to one channel as a 2 ohm stereo load.then measure its voltage.then do the other channel.that way you can figure out it's true 4 ohm mono power out. if anything it will keep you busy.lol
I'm not going to mess with it, will wait until i get a single 15" That's pretty sweet though, now it makes sense. Will back off the gains tommorow.
