don't really have any collections that i car about, but i do have a few things...
bunch of not so old computer equipment, we're talking enuf equipment to make about 3 computers, mainly in the 486 early pentium timeline. Got a handful of cpu's laying around, Cyrix mII 300, amd k5 133mhz, amd 486 133mhz, amd 486 80mhz, bunch of old hard drives.... got a conner 250meg drive, USED TO WORK. Crap... used to have a buttload of 30pin simms that i used as keychain toys.... still got 7 sticks somewhere.

also got a few coins and such.... prolly around 20 susan B anotony dollars, another heap of 50cent pieces, 1 silver dollar, something like 5 $2 bills.... few rice pennies, and used to have this dime from 1911 which is like nothing i've ever seen... but i think my cousin lost it/stole it... cause he used to mess around with the coins... and one day i went to look at it, and it was gone... i really hate lil brats.... was the only coin i really even cared about.

Nope, I actually don't collect these... (the Jada GN's are cool though B) )
I collect more of the 1:64th cars (and even at that, I'm out of room in my display cases  ).

And that southern funny money is no good here in western NY...
I'd feel pretty bad taking it anyway, after all the help you've given me! :p

    I just need your address.
No promises for actually showing up by Christmas... heh. B)

Oh yeah, I've got a bunch of those too... the dongles... even a few twinax card adapters for PC's...
1.5 would even be plenty, if you think about it, for a green-screen type terminal like these guys used...
Not exactly a lot of data being sent back and forth.
Speed's not really an issue. ;)

heres something else for you to think about. twinax has been outdated for the better part of a decade (or more?!), and if it runs at 1.5 like i think it does...well we're JUST hitting that now with cable internet. comcast goes to 3 megabit soon, but at this point our wan is JUST starting to touch the speed of a lan from a decade ago

just think about what will happen when we get to terabyte ssd's, and gigabit wan :jawdrop:

another funny thing.... in the year 1990.... there was like 30 (i think... not positive) T1 lines in the country.... the state of washington only had 1..... wanna guess where? yep seattle.... even hanford(nuclear reactor from WWII) didn't even have one.... 14 yrs later... many people have internet connections that are competitive with the speeds of a T1 line..... BUT IN THIER HOUSE!

The building I worked at 2-9 years ago, located in Buffalo NY had so much fiber running into it, it had more telephone and data bandwidth than the entire rest of western NY state. Ponder that for a moment.

The business? 2nd largest collection agency in the country, at that time. :p

They are calling Buffalo a major part of the "byte belt" however, apparently Buffalo is really wired to the hilt, very advanced compared to most cities.

Really ironic, IMO, because Buffalo is a dead hulk of it's glorious former self... there's hardly any business left in Buffalo. Even the building I used to work in... I don't work there anymore as they were purchased several times, finally after GE sold them, the company was essentially dissolved. :(

Damn!!! I just went to E-Bay looking for the Black and Pewter "GNs", and apparently my Red "GN" is very rare. On the box it is labled "Chevy Buick" which is supposedly an error and all the cars with this box have been recalled.

the first one up there I saw is at $35 (I paid $12) and it still has a couple days left!!! I got 1 more brand new in the box, 1 I assembled for my collection, and a third I bought for my youngest son for Christmas (boy does he love that thing too :) ) .

That may be worth a bit when it matures. I got a couple of the 1:64 cars that are worth something, including a pair of Racing Champions 1:64 model kits. I kid you not, they are model kits. I have assembled 1 and have the other in the box.

    THANKS CHRIS!!!

    Check it out guys...

is that sweet or what? Chris (Geo) sent this to me, and I just got it today. I wanted to take a pic of it with my 1:64 car as well (with the trading card, so you can actually see the 82 Nat paint scheme, and how accurate the Jada actually is)...

Thanks Chris. I am gonna see if I can find a couple of the black ones today. I'm gonna alter the chassis on 1 of them so it is not slammed, and see what I can do about some wheel/tire sets. I have looked at them and I know I can modify the chassis, but now I need to find some 1:24 scale 15s or 16s... Maybe Cragers or Welds, with some fat tires out back. I haven't decided if I want to rake the car, or leave it stock appearing...

    Opinions?

Check Ebay, but the black ones were (understandible) reaching much higher prices. You can definitely snag one for probably $25-$30 though.
Also... check Walmart. Our Walmart here has them, my best friend bought a red one (it was the last one they had, here... but I'll keep my eyes out... I don't think I'm going near Walmart for at least a week though... crazy shopping, at least today - ack).

And you might be surprised... you might not need to alter the chassis.
Remember, that thing's got 22's on it.. if you can find some (and I'm sure you can) 15" or 16" to-scale Cragars (or I even bet you can find wheels that look similar to the stockers... check out the Dukes of Hazard models - hint hint), you might be surprised to see that the car's the right altitude, fender gap and things are close to normal.

Looking at my Jada DUB City trucks, it looks like you can adjust them up a little bit if you got creative with a dremel and some JB Weld, not a big deal. But I bet you won't need to.
Looks cooler a little lower anyway. B)

No one wants to go off-roading in a GN, right? ;)

I actually got the candy apple red ones at Target. I don't know if you saw my previous post, but they are supposedly being recalled from the shelf for incorrect lableing. I see the 82 version that you sent me was correct, but all 3 of the red ones I bought were mislabled. I saw a white one at Wal-Mart but it was so torn up... I'm gonna look there tomorrow.

I saw the blacks, but I felt they were a bit high. I saw them previously on E-bay for $14, from a guy in Winston Salem, which is about 15 miles from me. When I see him with some more up I will hook up if I don't find them in the stores first.

If I owned one, I would not be sending it back, the mislables will probally make it more valubale later ;) B)

    Exactly...
I thought it was an Ebay scam, actually... I didn't think they were REALLY mislabeled...

Or rather, I mean I thought they were all just labeled the same way, not an error... I thought they all said 1987 Grand National on it.

I'm glad the one I sent you said 1982, that's very cool actually!

A guy I know on a car forum was looking for the Jadas and I told him about the candy apple red Nats. He found 1 in Wal-Mart and said he got to the counter and the guy took it from him. Told him he could not sell it, it was in their system. There must be some substance to thew story. The guy offered to buy 1 of mine for $35 :p

Well, look what I just bought for $30. All 4 of them :)
