    Hi,

I have just bought a 98 lifted Dakota extended cab that i will use for Off road.

It came with a JVC MP3 head unit that does the job but nothing spectacular.

Since this truck will only be used to ride in the mud and snow i don't plan on expending anything on the audio setup but i still need some music while climbing the mountains

I am planning on re-using some audio stuff that i have lying around in my home (pioneer premier HU with IPOD adaptor, etc) What i really need on the setup is to have at least a little bass (after driving with two 12" MTXs on the back of my charger i got addicted)

The truck does not have a lot of space for doing a sub box and i was planning on just using a very, very old MTX 12 inch that i have had lying around for more than 10 years

My question is, how would a sub like this work without a box? I was just planing on doing an MDF support to fix it under the rear seat but without a box.

Do you think this will work? I am not looking for professional sound here just a little more bass out of my system.

No it wont work without a box...unless you cut a hole in the floor and mount the subwoofer there.

i used to have an old ass mtx blue thunder 12, 2 actually. it will work ok in a small sealed box if it had to. being under your butt it should work out well. well enough anyways.
