Nice work eazy...did you use cardboard cut outs???

My friend who thinks he knoes everything about car audio tried to make a false floor from just looking at my friends trunk...hahaha...end result was it looked like ass and was no where near the shape of his trunk

    DON'T HATE.

i just got back from the beach.yes beach, it's like 85 out.went to a BBQ with some family friends.

one brought his jetski.man that thing is FUN!while i was out some cutie stalled her jetski.so i rode over to help her out.it ran out of gas.

we were like a 1/2 mile or so from the docks so it took some time to tow her back.like 20 mins.

anyways shes all flirty with me,and we're hitting it off and what not.so as we start to get really close she backs off.

it turns out she has a boyfriend.......was fun for a little while........ reminds me of that song.i'm not as good as i once was,but i'm as good once as i ever was.lol.

man she would have killed me.and i would have loved it.

Basically I'm going to have to take the sub box out if I have a flat... oh well, I guess it's better than just taking out the tire period and filling in the tire well with fiberglass and making it a sub box like a lot of people do.

Cardboard would have been way too hard to work with. I used sheets of poster board. The most difficult part was getting the right size piece about 28" deep at most out of a sheet like 4ftx8ft. I'm sure I would have done a better job if I had like a tablesaw to do the straight cuts. Having the right tools would have definetely helped on this job.

Maybe I can use an electric sander to make some of the sides straighter.

I wouldn't worry about it....The carpet will hide a lot of the ugly edges

    lol thank you.

Well I definitely need edead now...

Before I had 4 catalytic converters (yes my car came with 4) and dual straight pipes (no mufflers) with an H pipe...

Now I only have 2 cats and the straight pipes... my friend almost p!ssed himself when I revved it... literally.

Should I get the v1SE² (60 mils thick- $1.28 per sq ft) or the v4 (.25" thick- $1.60 per sq ft)?

I think I'm going to get the v4... 1/4" thick...

What part of the car would sound deadening have the biggest effect on exhaust noise?

Eazy, do not get the V4!!!! It really isn't needed...V4 is acoustical FOAM!!!

get the V1^se....it is like dynamat extreme...very good.

What you would do is put a layer or two of the V1se on the doors THEN put a layer of V4

ooooh lol. I thought it was just some intense sound deadening. Where would be most effective to eliminate exhaust noise?

Um...if you can deaden AND V4 the floor pan of your car...you know?? Where the exhaust is under

Like it would be a work out man...take your seats and carpet and EVERYTHING OUT....gutt the floor...clean it with isopropyl alcohol or acetone....then put down a layer of V1 then a layer of V4 over that

Well my amp came today... they fixed it. The note said it was "shorted blown C187" and it said max power 433. They didn't send back anything I sent with it, like the remote bass control, remote bass control wire and mounting hardware, hi-level input wire, allen wrench for the wires, manual... etc.

Okay, so when I try this again...

    Subsonic Filter turned ON.
    Take out power wire fuse.
    Plug in gound.
    Plug in power wire.
    Plug in remote wire.
    Plug in subwoofer wires.
    Plug in RCA's.
    Put fuse back in.
Gain at 0, bass boost at 0, and x over frequency at 0.
    Turn radio on.
Slowly turn up gain and x over frequency.

    Does this sound correct?

I'd set the crossover between 80-100Hz

have the head unit at your maximun listening level with the sub level at max

Zero bass boost and slowly turn up gain till its as loud as you want it to be....stop and turn the head unit sub level down to normal listening levels.

You don't wanna set the gain with the head unit sub level on zero or else you'll clip the amp by turning the level up and going way past the gain set on the amp

    IT'S POUNDING!!!!!!!!!!!

For tuning purposes I had the head unit at volume 30 and bass +6 on a scale of -6 to +6... Then I set the crossover at 80Hz, the gain at almost 1/2, and the bass boost at 0..... I usually listen to music in my car with the volume at 20-25 tops and the bass at 0 on the headunit. Man was it pounding. It OWNED my dual audiobahn 12's in the bandpass box and "800 watt" audiobahn amp. I had a stack of papers 2 feet in front of the port and it blew the papers right out of my trunk. This is AMAZING. Thanks a lot guys.
