    can anyone tell me...roughly the wattage of my amps.

    i set them to 30v with a 50hz tone.4 ohms.

    azn has formulas for that! Hey pedro, i have my speaker box in my back seat temporarily pushing about 1100 watts and holy crap lol, would that be allowed in competitions?

    how did you figure that out before azn? do you need amperage reading too?

    In a purely resistive circuit, current and voltage are in phase.
    There is a zero degree angle displacement between current
    and voltage. The cosine of zero is one. Multiplying a value by
    one does not change the value. In a purely resistive circuit the
    cosine of the angle is ignored.
    In a purely reactive circuit, either inductive or capacitive, current
    and voltage are 90 degrees out of phase. The cosine of 90
    degrees is zero. Multiplying a value times zero results in a zero
    product. No power is consumed in a purely reactive circuit.

    In the following 120 volt circuit, current is equal to 84.9

    milliamps. Inductive reactance is 100 Ω and capacitive
    reactance is 1100 Ω. The phase angle is -45 degrees. By
    referring to a trigonometric table, the cosine of -45 degrees is
    found to be .7071

    The apparent power consumed by the circuit is:
    P = EI
    P = 120 x 0.0849
    P = 10.2 VA
    The true power consumed by the circuit is:
    P = EI cos θ
    P = 120 x 0.0849 x 0.7071
    P = 7.2 Watts
    Another formula for true power is:
    P = I2R
    P = 0.08492 x 1000
    P = 7.2 Watts

    ha, i found it, your slacking azn...lol hurry up more boxes to build..........

    Good old rockford fosgate

    Answer

    The method described in this document is not designed to determine the actual "rated," "peak," or "dynamic" output power of an amplifier. It is specifically written for the "do it yourself" car audio fanatic as a troubleshooting method designed to verify power output of a properly working amplifier. This document recommends using test equipment and measurement procedures that are fairly easy to work with, versus professionals who use oscilloscopes, specific voltage measurements, distortion limits and signal-to-noise parameters to accurately test and measure the actual output power of amplifiers per CEA-2006 guidelines.

    Example

    =========================================================

    Now we use our formula ... 24.5 (volts) x 24.5 (volts) = 600.25 (volts)

    600.25 (volts) divided by 4 (ohms) = 150.0625 Watts

    Our amplifier will produce 150 Watts bridged.

    Each subwoofer will "see" 75 Watts

    ======================================================

    so yours is 30 x 30 = 900

    divided by 4 (ohms) = 225 watts

    your amplifier will produce 225 Watts bridged.

    Each subwoofer will "see" 112.5 Watts ---but this line is not true in your case because your using an amp for each

    I think this is right Pedro!! I may be wrong though.

    so 450 watts total at 30 volts ac, how many watts is that sub? 550?

    I'm the man, who's the man? I'm the man wohooo haha

    if you cranked her up to 35 volts ac

    35 x 35 = 1225 divided by 4 ohms = 306 watts each coil and amp, total of 612 watts

    I think your sub is only rated at 450 pedro? better keep it at 30 volts ac, they don't like to be overpowered.

    his sub is rated at 245 per coil at 4 ohms so total that'd be 490rms so he could crank em up just a tad bit more. put that rating to the test!

    you can probably burp it at 600wrms but i dont think you can play music with it...even though one time i hooked one of my old audiopipes at 760wrms and it played fine on music for long periods of time, but it was on a sealed box, and i blew the sub after 1 month of playing it like that due to huge voltage drop making my amp clip but w/e...lol

    ok so im giving it just over its 450 rms rating.great it will be fine.ive been driveing with it like this since last night.

    if it was going to crap out on me it would have done it all ready.

    wish me luck.i'm out the door

    using the voltmeter is just to get you in the ball park. It is better than doing it by ear if you don't know what clipping sounds like.

    You can burp your single L7 at 1500 watts for a couple seconds...it should take it.

    A guy who is on team kicker over on the12volt is a competitor...he said he burps his 10L7s at like 3000 watts I think.

    i only have the L5.

    ok guys i got 2 1st place trophies :D.

    idbl 135.4 db

    bass boxing 136.8 db.(on a side note.this is where you can open your window.i accidentilly closed it up to high to within an inch and it peaked at

    139.1 dbbut when i opened it back up i peaked it to the score posted.

    but at least i know it can get pretty loud with one window cracked.

    nice...I'd say you can safely burp your L5 at 1000 watts easily
