Disassemble usb car charger to hardwire?

    Basically I'm wondering if I can buy a cheap usb car charger, disassemble it, and hardwire it to the fuse box in order to have a charger go directly to my phone out the top of the dash when I'm using it for navigation. Will this work? and is there a better way? thanks

    EDIT: Also, I'm trying to keep this super cheap

    don't remove the inverter and i guess it should work.
