Hey guys.bought a new snap on classic tool box and I'm wanting to hook a car stereo system up to it.I know I need a transformer that converts 120v into 16v, but I'm wondering what size of wattage I need to run my car sub.its a500w sony amp.any help if anyone has done this before would be great.

    Thank you

sounds to me as tho you need a heavy duty/high amperage power supply, which can get pricey. to be honest you might be better off just buying a home receiver and pluging it into the wall.

im also thinking you might need a battery or two to keep up with the amperage demands. if it was just a head unit i would think a 10amp 13.8v $50 converter would do, but your adding an amp that would need upwards of 50+ amps maybe.

i don't see how that site is relevant to his question.

he isn't repairing anything, and i don't think 10 amps is enough anyways.
