    hi guys,
ive got this anoying alternator whine every time i accelerate my car. im running a rockford fosgate 4 channel amp with an alpine receiver. to this amp ive got a pair of boston acoustic components front and other pair in the back. although both are connected to the same amp, i can only listen to the alternator whine on the rear ones. i disconnected the RCA cable from this amp and the whine went off. what can it be?

the whine also isnt always there. most of the times it is, but sometimes it goes off for a day.

try grounding your RCA's to the chassis of your HU. Also which side of the car are your RCA's running, and your power wire?

try swapping the rca's and see if the noise follows.
