I can fit a 5cu ft box sealed in my car. Do you think I should do that? or should I do like a 2.5 vented? Remember I have hifonic 12d4's and the xplod. You tell me.

    Thanks.

Just bought one to see if it was good. Same price if I buy separate. I can buy the other hifonics anytime but I wanna get the box built first and idk what to do...

5cu ft sealed for just 2 subs is kinda on the really big side isnt it?

i can see 4 subs in something that big but just 2.

Ok .. what do you think is better... 2 12"s in a vented 2.5-4cu ft box or 2 12"s in a closed 2.5-5cu ft box? And the twelves would obviously be 2 hifonics 12d4s

just another question here. When you calculate volume do you subtract the displacement of the driver? I was watching a video of pros making custom boxes and they didn't because they said the recommended volume already accounted for the driver displacement...

Or should I just do a 1cu ft sealed box for the xplod and that box (hopefully 2.5 cu ft ported...)... so have 2 seperate boxes? and just keep my (1) xplod and (1) hifonics goin and don't buy another hifonics..?

mismatching subs is not a good idea. especially a ported and a sealed together.

I kind of figured that. Which is why I went ahead and tried to design a box for 2 12" Hifonics 12D4's.
Click the link to get the Google SketchUp Design.
I don't know if I put the pieces together right.
I think your supposed to make the bigger ones on top of the smaller ones.
If I did it wrong let me know. Here's a pic:

This box is designed to the manufacturer's recommended specifications:
    VENTED BOX DESIGNS (ROUND PORT)
    For Standard Tight Bass:
    Box volume: 1.75 Cubic Feet
    Fb: 40 Hz
Port Size (inside diameter): 3 Inches
    Port Length: 5 Inches
    F3: 39 Hz

I just made it for (2) instead of (1).
It's probably not right but that's what you guys are for. Your the experts :)
    Thanks for all your help!

Ya I'm hoping Ranger or AZN or someone can help me out on this one. 40Hz is kinda high but it's a lot lower than what I'm getting now so it's okay I guess.
