Cerwin-Vega Now Shipping the V-Mag Series

June 9, 2003 -- Simi Valley, Calif. - Cerwin-Vega is now shipping the new V- MAG Unified Component mobile audio speaker line. Featuring the performance of separate components with the convenience of a point-source configuration, the new Cerwin-Vega V-MAG Unified Component drivers are designed for direct drop-in replacement of OEM speakers for improved musical performance.
A sleek new Cerwin-Vega tweeter bridge/trim plate, combined with a magnesium aluminum alloy midwoofer cone, enhances the interior of any vehicle. Each of the V-MAG Unified Component drivers represents an advanced generation of component construction incorporating the latest materials and technical advances.

The materials used include: microcellular butadiene rubber surrounds, which are light yet exhibit robust cross- sectional thickness for excellent linearity under high power conditions and resistance to damage from ultraviolet rays; Kapton voice coil formers for increased power handling; low-mass magnesium aluminum alloy cones for a lightning-fast transient response; and 3/4" magnesium composite balanced (V-Mag 402) and 3/4" magnesium composite dome (V-Mag 502 and 602) tweeters for smooth high-frequency response. Strontium ferrite woofer magnets offer smooth acoustic response with excellent dynamics and transient response.

The V-MAG Unified Component models include: V-MAG 402 4" two-way; V-MAG 502 5 1/4" two-way; V-MAG 602 6 1/2" two-way.

The Cerwin-Vega Unified Component V-MAG 402 two-way, full- range system includes a 4" midwoofer and a 3/4" magnesium composite balanced dome tweeter. Frequency response measures 45 Hz to 22 kHz. The power handling capability is 40 watts (nominal RMS) and 120 watts (maximum music).

Nominal impedance is 4 ohms. Sensitivity is rated at 89 dB (1 watt, 1 meter). Mounting diameter for the V-MAG 402 is 1 11/16" (94 mm); mounting depth is 2" (52 mm).

Suggested retail price for the V-MAG 402 is $129.00 a pair.

The Cerwin-Vega! Unified Component V-MAG 502 two-way, full- range system includes a 5 1/4" midwoofer and a 3/4" magnesium composite dome tweeter. Frequency response measures 30 Hz to 22 kHz. Power handling capability is 50 watts (nominal RMS) and 150 watts (maximum music). Nominal impedance is 4 ohms. Sensitivity is rated at 90 dB 91 watt, 1 meter). Mounting diameter for the V-MAG 502 is 4 1/2" (114 mm); mounting depth is 2 3/16" (55.5 mm).

Suggested retail price for the V-MAG 502 is $149.00 a pair.

The Cerwin-Vega! Unified Component V-MAG 602 two-way, full- range speaker system features a 6 1/2" midwoofer and 3/4" magnesium composite dome tweeter. Frequency response measures 25 Hz to 11 kHz. Power handling capability 60 watts (nominal RMS) and 180 watts (maximum music). Nominal impedance is 4 ohms. Sensitivity is rated at 90 dB (1 watt, 1 meter). Mounting diameter is 5" (127 mm); mounting depth 2 1/8" (54.5 mm). A mounting spacer ring (included) provides 1 7/8" (47.7 mm) depth.

Suggested retail price for the V-Mag 602 is $169.00 a pair.
