sounds like an ok set up to me. did they give you any reasons why they bashed it? how many channels is the hifonics amp?1,2,4, 5?

both subs wired into a 4 ohm mono load. if that amp is a mono amp it will work fine if its a 2CH amp it will also work.
oh ok then y splitters then. i got mine from best buy. the acoustic research ones. those are good quality ones. 20 bucks for 4 should do it....
some times you need more than 1 port to make it work. if you need a certain length and you dont have the room you need to have more.
