very true.. all my front speakers have an average of 20 watts going to them.... i do how ever have 10 front speakers, and its plenty loud. lol

if you have two dual 4 ohm subs then you can wire into either a 1 ohm load or 4 ohm load.. not a a combined 2 ohm load.. with a single D4 Ω sub...

i guess it depends on how loud said sub is... i've heard a few setups with just head unit power keep up with a sub on average power. by average...
add a small fan... i had a pioneer do this back in the day.. not having A/C didn't help.
20 watts should be plenty for the rear speakers.
make sure ch 1-2 are in hi-pass or full pass and not on low pass.

hmmm... it could be the wire, or something in the amp. maybe a loose or broken solder joint. does the noise go away if you unplug the rca's?...
