the 2 8's will have more cone area as one 10... 2 8's = 100 square inches.. 1 10 will be 75 . yo most likely won't hear a difference with the same...

absolutely. the more pre amp voltage means you don't have to turn the gain up as high as with a lower voltage head unit. when cranking the gains...
what i meant was ,if its rated at 400rms then its is a 400 watt amp, not an 1850 watt 400 rms amp... it just sounds wrong saying it really......

i think your problem lies in your brand choice. the amp is not of good quality. :no: "The amp is a 1850watt 400rms mono block" this statement...
in all honesty, if you have a properly built enclosure. what ever sub you choose should sound good.
look it up on ebay.. my old PG M44 amp goes from 150 to 400 depending on the seller. the M50's for 100 to 250.
my guess is they may come out to producing roughly the same power either way.
