    Boston G2 Series subs are sweet...Heard them in person also...Love them. If you have the money the G5's are crazy...3 inches of peak to peak...

    The surround on all JL subs are made of some kind of treated foam...You mean the trim ring..yes it is cardboard but that does not affect the sound...
