Adding an amp will always improve the sound...for 6x9s...they will be plenty loud if you add another amp for them...Bazooka makes some decent...
Yes you can drill through fiberglass...but it will crack of you do not have some kind of wood behind it to do the holding.

That headunit will work fine...as for the 3 ways...I'd hook them up to the 2 channel...don't agree with the 4 channel and bridging fronts to one...

Why would you set your gain with the radio on full blast?? Most people set gain at zero and then turn the deck up to the highest listening level...
Doesn't matter if the amp as a built in crossover or not...that would be only for the output of the amp...I'm talking about a crossover system...
