what setting was your DMM set to??? also 90% gain and 50% bass boost sounds like you are clipping the amp
tc makes some very nice drivers. look at the tc-1000's also
were you thinking of using the front channels for the 6 by 9s and the rear bridged channels for the subs? if so than you would be better off...
300 watt amp is too general what model number or do you have a link??
how much are you gonna spend on an amp for these??? these will perform the same way the JLs will and do it with a smaller box and less power....

those subs are designed to work well and sound good in small sealed and vented boxes...for best SQ I'd go with a ported box at 1.5 cu ft tuned to...
