    Hi everyone.

I recently came across a cheap amp to replace my old Alpine amp that fried on me. It's a PolkAudio amp that was given to me for basically free from a friend. Anywho, I took it home, wired it up like the previous amp was wired an all, start the car, no power to the amp.
"Not a problem," I thought, and busted out my multimeter. This is where it gets confusing. I've been into car audio for a while now, but this stumped me good. My multimeter read 12+ volts from the remote turn-on wire, but when I put it on the power terminal, I got barely a volt.

How do I fix this? What's wrong here? I don't really know where to go/what to do. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

[P.S. I know I'm new, I just had to ask this first, as I'm tearing my hair out in frustration]

Did you use the same power wire and ground? Some cases after you use a wire for awhile you need to restrip it and start out fresh, it gives it a more solid connecting, granted this prob won't fix the problem but it might help.
