i have a SPLW-12 and an SPL 2000d amp. i just bought them both like a week ago. for some reason my sub wont start hittin untill i turn the volume up really high. it is like there is nothing getting to the sub, i can push gently in the center of it down maybe a quarter inch and it will start hittin but when i go below a certain volume or turn off my truck i have to go through the same process. any ideas as to what this problem is?

sorry for the late response. it sounds like a loose connection somewhere, or the sub is bad.

take it out of the box and look it over. thats all i got.

i bought it like a week ago off of a dealer who had the setup in his car. listened to it in his car for about 10 min. sounded amazing. put it in my truck sounded horrible.

its not even responding now, everything looks like i just pulled it out the box new tho. hooked up a small 150W rms sub to the amp. worked fine. with gain turned down of course. so its not the amp i dont think

It sounds like the sub is bad but check your terminals for your box maybe

maybe u clipped the signal and the tinsel leads at the terminals are burnt off.

hooked up another sub to it today, i turned it up and it sounded like i plugged it into a wall. also at low volume it make a very slight rumbling noise. hooked the splw12 back up at 2ohms just like i had it before and if i turn it about halfway up it acts like i plugged it into a wall. the problem seems to be in the amp...maybe. any ideas?

brand new kicker wiring kit. i got in about an hour ago and decided to run speaker wire to only one of the 2 one ohm voice coils. it hit decently. hooked up the other side. Not a sound. so i have narrowed this big problem down to just one thing. i checked the other side of the terminals and they looked good. they are small ring terminal design bolted to the back of the terminal. unless it is a wiring problem inside the sub where the small wire from the terminal dissappears into the spider im stuck. any possible fixes?
