hey guys,i currently have 2 Orion Hp12d4's in a down firing box in my titan crew cab,but they dont sound great due to the box volume and maybe the down firing method.would an Audiofire center console enclosure with 1.7cu.ft. and 1 Fi BL 10" with about 1200wrms sound better?im looking for some decent SPL.thanks
how much airspace does each sub have?? You have some pretty good subwoofers...But the Fi should slam good...I don't think it would be as loud as two 12's though...BIG reduction in cone area.
the orions are in about .7 and i did use fiberglass fill.i think my problem may be the down firing box had to have spacers to actually mount the subs because of depth and it left little room between the sub and floor.its not touching the floor even at "full" excursion.its just so frustrating to search for decent equipment when you have little mounting depth and space.
for a pick up truck I would never go with 12's. .7 cu ft is to small. 10's would get deeper than those 12's in the current enclosure. If you want output than you are gonna have to give up space. "You can have low end extension, high efficiency, or small enclosure size. Pick two."
most decent subs either 10 or 12 will have a mounting depth greater than 5.5".so would you say my best bet is the Audiofire console and an FI BL 10" or what sub do you recommend.that box has an 8" mounting depth but like i said its a single sub enclosure.thanks for the help
what are your thoughts on the audiofire box and a cerwin vega stroker 10".the box is 1.7 and sub calls for 1.5,but i figure after woofer basket it should be ok.1500 watts rms.its got to sound better than the two suffocating subs i have now.
