    Hey guys!

My cousin just got a car and hes interested in getting a both a decent Subwoofer and decent a decent amplifier. Hes not really worried about the SQ of anything - he just wants it loud.

Would $150 suffice? If not, then whats a good budget?

I really appreciate all the assistance you guys give us, we are both new to the whole car audio thing. ^_^

Iam captain of the pioneer cheer team, but i will advise you not to pick up any pioneer subs, or speakers. Head units only lol.

    try something like this...
    Sub
    Amp
To get a system thats going to be worth while and produce enough bass for you to really feel like you bumping, you should shoot for about double that, around 300 bucks or so will set you up with a pretty good setup.

good find ELEU. in the right sized ported box 300 watts should get you bumping nice with that 12.

i used to run my L5 kicker 10 with 250 watts and it got nice and loud enough.

Why are those speakers good choices? They are low in watts arent they? Is there anyway of telling which one is better by looking at the specs, or is it all experience?

they are good for you cause they are cheap like you wanted. also from experience you dont need thousands of watts to get good ole loud bass.

Pioneer makes great great HU's but thier speakers are soso at best, usually subpar, both from experiance and from Word of mouth.

The Ma's are good subs, i run a couple of higher Brand ones from them, on one of thier amps (wich might be dead now iam still trying to findout) and i blew the box up, literally.

also the watts and power handling/output of subs and amps dont make a good system, the way we deal with the sound and air/vibrations that those subs make is what makes a system, its all mechanical physics. its all about maximizing the produced waves correctly. but granted a 15,000 watt system will probably beat out a 500 watt....
