I have a pontiac g6 4dr Sedan with a pretty well sized trunk. I want to spend at max about a thousand dollars to add 3 10's and an amp.. Do you guys have any suggestions on what amp and subs to get?

Well for subs you may want to look at Fi audio, Elemental Designs,
    SSA's.

Are you going for SPL? maybe you should look ar Elemental Designs amps or Sundown Audio. Both are great underrated amps.

    is that a trick question?lol.

i like sq but i like to crank it sometimes too.

go for sq. 3 10's will get plenty loud too.

There you go. Question: if your going with SQ then what are you using for your front stage and amp for the front stage?

    3 10's would be sweet.

For, I'm going to start getting into more SQ, I've done the SPL thing and my wife really hates it and my ears are starting to hurt so my next system will be for more SQ now.

Are you guys sayin 3 10s for a sq setup? If so thats just crazy all you need for a sub for a good sq setup is one 8 or even 1 10 .

no, what we are saying that if you are not sure and you want a little of both worlds then 3 10's would be really nice to have. Actual SQ set up only needs one sub. I know that but he's not sure on what he wants

you are right. in a good sq system you could just use i sub in the 8-12 size.

i know a guy with 2 12's and he does really well in sq.

now he never turns them up to flex his bass muscles. he says its not musical. its just enough to fill in with the rest of the system.

so i think 3 10s can do both. arent most sq setups sealed? ive never asked the guy and i dont remember him telling me.

    Impedance 3 ohms
    Top Mount Depth 2-1/2"
    Bottom-mount depth 3-7/8"

The amp that is powering them is a
    HIFONICS ZXI-8408 4CH 880W CAR AMPLIFIER ZXI8408
Zeus ZXi Series 4-Channel Class AB Car Amplifier
    4 ohms: 110 watts x 4 chan RMS.

HOw much are you paying for the kenwoods? If you really want good SQ then I would suggest other speakers but if you have heard them and those are the ones you like then you should get them.

How much are you paying for the amp?

Ok well the speakers were 80 for the 6x9's and 150 for the components and the amp was 240.. My budget for the base is around a thousand dollars.

did you already buy the kenwoods and the amp for the kenwood? If you want very good SQ, i suggest buying a good component speakers for you front stage.

Does your G6 have the monsoon system in it?

No it does not have the monsoon system in it, it was all base stuff and blown at that... What are the cons of the components I have like how much better would you go? Any suggestions??

For pure SQ I would never do a single 8

My reasoning for more and larger subwoofers.

Less excursion for given output = less distortion
