I just came accross Alpine type E subs and heared some good reviews about it. I can buy those subs over ebay. But I want to know, if they are compared to JBL is case of a SPL setup, how do they perform? should I go for the Alpine type E?
any sub can perform well in the right enclosure. how many do you plan on running and with how much power? ive seen spl vehicles with as little as one sub to as many as 20.
Only two subs, 10s are preferred. I dont want to see my car's electricals dimming on the thumps. I mean only that amount of power which runs smoothly on car's buil in electrical system.
ok how much power do you want? i run 3 8's with around 600 watts and am very happy with that. so 2 10's with say 200~300 watts each should be plenty for most people.
I think 300 each would be good. I want a system which can be heared from some metres away Power can be increased untill it DOESNT AFFECT THE CURRENT FACTORY FITTED ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
running 600 rms on a stock system if you didnt have a 130+ amp alternator would most likely put a hurting on it. You'll need to do the big3 upgrade with 4 gauge at the least.
60~65 amps if your lucky. you will deff need to do the big 3 for sure. with 600 watts you should be ok.
Measure the voltage your electrical system is making. No real way to know for sure with out actually hooking the system up first. Its worth doing the big 3 anyways. Every existing system I've added it to was noticeably louder in the afterwards.
just wondering why you would care what it sounds like "some meters away" Are you not going to be in the car??
LOL.. I mean i want a best system in my town. People do have systems here in their cars, but they all are either fake JBL or ALpine or Hand MAde Stuff. Thats why I want a LOUD system so it should be that much loud so poeple can know that I am coming
having personally built a custom box for the alpine type-e subs and I highly recommend them. They got stupid loud off ~350rms. http://www.caraudiotalk.com/audio-forum/showthread.php?t=6643&highlight=alpine+type-e
