Guys, I'm going to agree with Chris and Mike. So far this thread is going nowhere aside from grounds for a personal pissing match. If you want to stay focused on the ED/Adire mid discussion that is cool, but I will not continue to allow accusations and defamation of anyones charachter.

And Steven, you are not innocent in this matter here either. You are my friend, but you are not right in this case. Argue the mids, not Josh's charachter. I started a thread about this already not long ago in an attempt to derail posts like these before they started. We all need to respect each other, and each other's opinions.

I will be watching this thread today fellas, clean it up OK.

Hmm... That took me by surprise. Quite impressive given the circumstances.

I'm not here to continue the pissing match, I'm here to derail something that turned into a pissing match because some unknown person started it (marshall and I tried to figure out who this fellow is on AV/VA, and failed), and Steven took it further by baselessly pointing a finger. (Before one says "he didn't say anything", compare the name of this thread - to the name of the one he started on caraudioforum itself.)

eD cannot hype something that doesn't exist. (to me, not existing means the public cannot get their hands on it. 2 pairs of drivers exist, and where they sit right now, I can assure anyone reading, they won't hit the production floor without changes - that was decided long ago.

Either way, that's where things sit, you can take that as you will - I'll answer whatever else I can to the extent of my knowledge.

We may have our personal differances Josh, but it would be rather hypocritical for me to expect you to behave in a certain manner, and allow someone else to walk all over you simply because he is my friend. My job is to moderate this forum, not to supress someone who's opinions or feelings are differant from my own.

On that note, I appreciate your standing back and letting this ride as a civil discussion. Also I thank you for bringing an opposing viewpoint, as well as insider knowledge that I am sure you posess. I think we all realize that you cannot disclose everything, but the information you can provide will be most welcome.

    Carry on fellas.

You are right Seth. I guess I said what I did earlier about Josh during the heat of the discussion. I was a little shell shocked at the personal attack against me just because I supplied a link. I mean, why should I have to defend what I didn't say?

So to Josh, I am sorry for what I said. I hope you understand that the poo poo head name calling was a joke.

I don't like to get into these arguments, and that is why I have left my opinion out of it. Some people were trying to pull me into it (not just Josh BTW), and it got to the point where I felt that I had to defend myself. I'm sure anyone else would have.

Again, I made no comment on this issue. The reason the topics were different is because I wanted to name it something that would get some viewing. CAF is much more busy, and a name like this one would get burried very fast. So I decided to change it to what it was. Again, I felt it described what was going on over there, and did not mean to infer anything. But you feel differently about it which is fine. I guess we will have to agree to disagree about something so minor.

I do appreciate the information you bring forth about the driver not being even close to release. I have a feeling many of those hearing those numbers and waiting for them didn't know that. But as you can see from the responses on CAF, there is some hype about the drivers. I agree with Chris in that the hype, although starting whith ED with their release of information so early, is not from them now but from the enthusiasts. But again, this is another difference of opinion. I think there is hype about them, and thus the thread title. Now everyone knows our positions on this, and we are definitely not going to change the others minds about it. So there really isn't a reason to argue over it anymore. I guess we will have to agree to disagree again.

    Here's a fun thought:

It's fun getting a little bit of information on new products - particularly when it's the "big specs" that are usually traded around - because it engages the imagination.

It's even more fun getting a little bit of information about a second product that isn't out yet, because it not only engages the imationation about the capabilities of the two, but it engages your imagination in speculating about which would be superior and inferior in the many, many discrete areas of performance and value that exist. ;)

It's fun discussing what at this point is "imaginary product", particularly because it's so harmless... it's unattainable, and not related to a real decision that needs to be made. Care-free, if you will.

I'm not sure how it turned so serious, or realistically what harm (in that context) it could do that people feel the need to defend one side or the other... people's decisions will be made on real product specs, not speculation. It could even be good to be the make-pretend underdog, and then bust out with a powerful release product. B)

But the comparisons... just supposed to be fun, sort of like the old:
"Who do you think would win a fight, Rocky, or The Rock?"
"Who do you think would win in an autocross, a Lingenfelter Corvette, or a Lotus Elise?"
"What would be quicker, an Lamborghini Diablo, or a Ferarri F50?"

It's fun to visit the world of "things I can't possibly own" every so often.

    All the politics and accusations...
Sure, Stephen brought this thread up. He didn't start it - in fact, an apparent Elemental-fan did.
No one would say Stephen's not an "Adire guy", but I'm not surprised that it would be an "Adire guy" who would get jazzed from reading Dan's post, and be the one to want to bring it to other people's attention.
People make it sound like that was wrong to do (here and CAF).
Elemental guys get excited over Elemental announcements, DD guys get excited over DD announcements, JL guys get excited over JL announcements, and Adire guys get excited over Adire announcements.

Personally, I was having fun imagining what these high-excursion monster mids really could do in my doors, because I don't have one, and can't get my hands on anything similar right now, short of building one myself - just like I can't get my hands on a Ferarri or a Diablo, but it's still fun to look at pictures of them, and their spec sheets.
For all I know, the Ferarri might not ever have been built. Does it matter? ;)
How about that Porsche 959? :p

I was enjoying Ben's statements that the installer will actually have his work cut out for them, because his was so powerful, he found things that rattled in his doors that he didn't know rattled. :D
And Ben sounded truly jazzed... I'd like to experience what got him so excited. Fun to imagine that.
And Dan's specs were likewise impressive, shocking even. Again, gets the imagination going. Cool stuff.

Gets the imagination going, that is cool to me - both of these mids. B)

Maybe I'll post this on CAF, since there seems to be more needing of "lightening up" over there, than here.
