No really I'm old, almost 50 I have been an installer for around 12 years. Will probably do it for a living for another couple of years. I currently study Mathematics at a local university and have 7 classes to go before graduation (almost there). My main hobby is to see how much stuff I can stuff into my Ford Ranger Standard Cab Pickup. So far I have 4 amps, 2 5-inch screens, DVD player, Centerchannel Speaker under the ash tray (DVD player is in the ash tray). I think I'm out of room for more stuff.
You sure your 50 not 25? Is that all you have? What type of headunit, subs, and speakers. Give us details and im sure we can help you find ways to spend more money. One idea is to put a cover on the bed and you can put a sub or two in there.
OK Ranger pick-up's do not have overhead consoles as an option but I needed a place for my Ipod, so I borrowed one from an Explorer The area behind the seats are completely full The cover over the amps is not hiding anything, even under the cover its clean I needed a place for the DVD player so I quit smoking I am starting to run out of room and I need an amp for the centerchannel speaker located under the ash try. HEY theres room in the kick panel Tweeters were the only thing powered by the Head Unit, cann't have that now can we I know it says Kenwood but its a Sony XM-2025 Kenwood KDC-X617 Kenwood KAC-716 Kenwood KAC-626 Kenwood KAC-526 Sony XM-2025 Ipod Nano 2GB with a Kenwood KCA IP500 interface Qwestar DVD1000 DVD Player 2 5-inch Mobile TV moniters (will post picks of both here in a little while) All Polk Audio Speakers DX-10-4 sub DX 7 5x7 speakers in the doors DX 3000 tweeters with home made crossovers The door speakers were not just thrown in the doors. And the center speaker is a Polk Audio EX3560, just the woofer from the component set. A Polk Audio Rep sold me just the one speaker.
Nice install. At already looks like your a pro. I guess thats a really good reason to quit smoking. Claim it on your med ionsurance as a medical expense.
Thank You And the picture of both screens, I forgot that one. And I am an Installer, been doing it for 12 years. I'm the oldest installer I know
All of the install I did myself, I also did all the fiberglass work my self. Paint was sent to a Paint and Body Shop. Bacically this system started as an amp and 8- inch sub on a factory head unit. It just evolved over the years.
nicely done.. it appears that you take great pride in the quality of your installs. Keep up the good work
How did this old thread get back to page 1 Check out this Ipod install http://www.caraudiotalk.com/audio-forum/showthread.php?t=4129
