so im at home yesterday and decided what the hell.... i wired them in with the dash and tweets for around 175-225 watts per ch for channels 1-2. these are crossed over higher for more midrange. 250ish and up ch 3-4 run the polks in the factory spots crossed over lower for midbass around 80hz and up. it is noticeably louder and i love it!!! sounds great.
so if you go by ED thats 175 x 2 @ 2Ω on ch 1-2 and 100 x2 @4Ω on ch's 3-4. 550 watts up front to 8 speakers talk about head room! and its pretty distortion free to boot. 50 x 2 to the rear and 500-600 to the subs.
damn, that must sound really good now. vids pedro! those mids and highs must be VERY loud and clear now!
Looks sweet and probably sounds sweet to. And yea, you should post a video to let us hear them things!
well oky doky. since i got my computer probs out of the way sure. i'll take some in a bit and post them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf81euHalbk this one. it has some nice deep notes and the vocals are so ........buttery .lol
also i should note i was messing with the xovers and i was running the polk 6.5s as just midbass and they were drowned out by the mtx's. so i am running them hi pass but just lower and now the mids are nice and louder so i dont have to crank the volume like before. at 30 on the vol is like it was on 35 or so and i didnt even raise the gains. i actually lowered the gain on ch 1-2 running the 3 speakers. tons of head room.
I love head.....room. It's always nice to just keep cranking it. Found out my left front speaker is going out...sucks
BUMP!! had a really slow day at work yesterday and made this out of really thick cardboard. yeah cardboard ,but its 1/2 thick. closer to stealth.
i have the box pushed forward all the way to the sill plate. so its within 3in of the tail gate. it made a huge difference in output. i'm guessing 1~1.5 db's at least. i have a piece of mdf wedged behind the box and amp so it isnt going anywhere. i saving that space for a batt or 2 or 3. i have enough mdf to frame out some support for the dead space to the right of the box and the rear to hold up some weight of what ever i put on top of it. most likely just groceries.
one more. also i used contact cement cause i still have a can of it from before, and man that smell takes a while to go away.lol
