Okay, I already know about the occasional cracked windshields. Not a big deal for me. I think my deductable is $100 for that. {of course I'd never tell them my stereo caused it.... and I doubt they'd ever suspect....) Destroyed alternator.... no big deal. I need upgraded one anyway, right ? Then I've heard about cracked welds in roof seems and such. Probably much rarer, but a lot bigger deal..... So then last night, I was talking with a guy, who's buddy had a Lexus suv, with six 12"s, and his system hit so hard, it jacked up all of his sensors, to the point where his vehicle wouldn't even start ! I'm not sure what all he had to do to fix it {whether he had to replace any sensors, or just take it to the dealers to be reset} but anyway, he did get it fixed....... then, the next time he went to do some slamming, BAM ! It happened again ! So now the guy is looking for a different vehicle to be used as his "car audio" ride. I guess you guys know that basically all new vehicles are full of sensors, for everything you can possibly imagine... even my new F150 has all kinds of them. Now, my F150 is brand freaking new, and I sure as heck can't afford 'another' new one anytime soon ! Granted, my initial setup will be much more of a SQ setup anyway, with only a couple medium weight 12"s, and a mere 700 watts going to them. But down the road, should I get the itch to do something crazy with SPL...... ??? Anybody heard of sensor problems from SPL systems ? How about other potential problems I haven't mentioned, or maybe even, never heard of ??? Thanks for the heads up, Peace, Fish
i can show you pics of cracked door metal, sunroof corners, roof damage from flexing, and broken welds. all that doesnt happen till you break the 157 + level tho.(from what ive seen) so unless you plan on hitting 157's to 160's i wouldnt worry about it too much. i know a guy with a lexus gs300 and he can hit in the upper 50's with music and his car never shut off on him but he's also lost countless windsheilds and now has no sunroof due to damage .lol
