Only 2400 watts? Expected more from the size. US Amps VLX-400 Output POwer at 12.6V: 2 x 200W @ 4 ohms (THD < 0.006%) 2 x 400W @ 2 ohms 2 x 800W @ 1 ohm 2 x 1200W @ ½ ohm 1 x 2400W @ 1 ohm bridged Fuse: External 400A 44" long (112 cm), 36 lbs (16.33 kg)
1,800 for only 2,400 watts and a huge problem of where to put it, it is pretty sweet tho! lol i think that is a bit too much money tho.
Hey, if you did buy it at least you could possibly use that amp rack you were building.lol Did you get your Hifonics amp in yet???
man i've known about that amp for a while and was half tempted to show u electro. from what i've heard its very underrated, off a solid electrical it should be well over 3000rms. i've also heard they're .25ohm stable for burps.
Ya, i could use my rack haha, i'll just extend it about 4 feet lol. No hifonics yet. I just emailed the guy though and asked if it comes with the bass remote and it does!! Why do i have a sinking feeling like my sub is going to fry now lol. That ported box i'm using sounds like crap. The cerwin vega has very tight bass even in that small ported box. It reminds me of some phoenix gold subs i had one time in a sealed box. I'm only running about 150 watts into it right now. you not liking your Cerwin Vega sub now??? why don't you make an enclosure for it then or have one made...
I like it, it just doesn't sound like the regular line of subs out there. I haven't put any real power to it yet, i'm hoping that's what it needs and a bigger box. I'm going to build it and have home depot make all the cuts. Just not sure if i should go 2.5 cubic feet @ 35 hz as cerwin vega recommends or 3.0 cubic feet @ 35 hz. I've ran it through bassbox about 30 times now probably, still can't decide lol. There's not much difference in output, just excursion, but is still within the limits.
