Id like some help here, since i have absolutely no idea what i am doing as far as components go, and admit it. I am looking to purchase a Image Dynamic CTX65CS component set. It will be running off of a Rockford Fosgate P400-4 (50x4w RMS @ 4 ohm, 200x2 RMS @ 4 ohm bridged) I don't know for the life of me, where I can mount the tweeters, or crossovers. I was thinking the sale panel on each door, but the passenger side door blocks it when its closed. I could put it on the dash or somewhere in the door, which would sound the best? Also should i bridge these speakers to the amp? they would be getting 200w RMS each, im sure thats too much power? and 50w RMS would be too little power? Where do all you mount your crossovers, in the door, kick panel, glove box, by the amp? I am clueless here, Ive been running $30 coaxials, maybe somebody can shed some light.. get yourself some double sided tape and experiment on the doors and maybe the A pillar. i have mine on my door firing towards each other just above the arm rest but more forward. maybe above your door handles? how big is the crossover for the tweet? and what mounting option are you going with on the tweet. mine had to be surface mounted.
location of tweeters.....lots of theories and ideas. Fpr proper phasimg and time alignment, as close to the mid bass as possible, but that is not always the best spot for imaging. And the best location for imaging means they might be too bright. LOL! There is really only ONE best way to determine the best location for your tweeters.... invest in a bit of double sticky tape and experiment with different locations.....do alot of critical listening at each location with the same music. As for location of passive x-overs? its not critical Just a secure dry location
