I just find it funny that in school and so called education programs there are more lies than anything History class -- Lies because god forbid we talk about Christanity, even though it was a MAJOR part of history -- Cant even talk about what Christmas is (note I am not a Religious person, NEVER been to church, and NEVER will, never read the Bible and never will, but still...) Health (sex ed) lies lies lies Government Class lies lies lies -- can you beleive they still teach that 1> the government is "for the people by the people" :unsure: :unsure: 2> that america is a DEMOCRACY??? when did that happen? I thought we were a republic?????? democratic republic but....... hmmmmm and people wonder why the schools suck
Why teach kids that kind of stuff whent they are 10 years old. They can learn it later in life. Mike you have made some good points before but I just dont understand why u think that America is supposed to be some kind of utopian paradise where all is good and fair. America is susceptible to corruption like every other country at any point of time. You can always try establishing your own country if you arent satisfied P.S. Quit Bitchin' :lol:

I'm a senior in HS... but ever sine I started taking political courses my soph. year... we have talked about democracy, but theres always the times when we discuss how it's never for the people. Those classes are fun though for debate... -adam

Although maybe we are at this point if you take a look at history and see how every true democratic government ended (that would be in to a dictatorship or socialistic government) we are definatly on that path, and latly our speed has been INCREASING to that end......... with Either open... well... I have never been taught that we are a Democratic government. I do not know where you went to school, but in Southwest Missouri we are taught that we are a TYPE of democracy, and that is true. I am sorry if your teacher was ignorant, but they no longer teach that we are a true democracy if they used to..... What lies are there about sex ed?
well technically we are a type (or rather were a type) of republic...... and I never said I was taught that, I said I disagreed with my Teachers Mainly over the whole "for the people by the people" nonsense As far as Sex Ed goes it is not just that, more and more Schools are using SCARE tactics muchs like the Infamous "Reefer Madness" video that depcited anyone that smoked weed would become insanse. I guess I am in the Minoriy, I always thought we should give our kids the TRUTH, and that them make INFORMED desicions I guess not, lets lie
All of the Sex Ed classes that I have take have presented it in a fairly unbiased sort of way. I do not have a problem with an abstinence based program. Frankly, there would be a lot less problems in high schools around the nation of all kids practiced that. I would not know about the "Reefer Madness" video, I have never been in a health class where we really went into drugs all that much. About the most I have been taught is alcohol and tobacco related.
