    Hi all,
New here to this forum. I would like to be able to run my electric guitar through my car stereo and interface with backing music.

I can figure out how to run my guitar by itself, but I would like to play over background music.

Anyone out there done this, or know how? I have done some searches online, but only found info on running the guitar itself.

    Thnaks for any info.

    Erik

Welcome! Any live signal is way different than car or home audio signals. Live signals have spikes that regular systems can't handle and you will fry basically anything you try lol. I would say get a small guitar amp, mount it behind the back seat or in the trunk and have it powered separatly with a DC/AC power inverter. basically don't try and tap into your car's system just play over top of it.

I did see some car manufacturer build in a guitar amplifier and you get a custom guitar made for the car when you buy the car. Can't remember which company it was.
