best buy salesman....lol...what are they good for anyway?? it sure as hell isnt selling products....around here atleast.... about 2 weeks ago my friend and i was looking at the pionner 7400 mp....playin with it...i was jokin that my future cd playter would cost more then his whole system....but thats beside the point....anyway i saw these things called bass blockers...so im checkin em out...and im like...'COOL'...always wanted to build house speakers out of car components...so....i track down the salesmen(literally) and ask him the price he says 10 bucks for the pair...so im like 'ok'...and he asks if i just got a new amp and if i need the bass blockers because my fornt speakers cant handle the bass... i said...no im thinking about building tower speakers from car stereo components...salesmen said 'we'll youll just fry the reciever"...i said how...the salesmen proceeded to tell me that because car stereo components are of a 4 ohm impendance that i will 'fry' the reciever...i say thats funny because my reciever is 4 ohm stable there buddy....the dood shuts his hole...then i say...besides isnt it possible to achieve an 8 ohm by wiring a sub with components in paralell(i think or is it series....forget the name)...he gave me this look...he wasnt to happy with me...my boy asked where the 6x9's were and salesmen got pissed and said ...THEYRE OVER THERE and walked away hahahhaha salesmen...period...dont know shit....atleast around here =O)
They are good for selling lies to people that dont know any better. I cant deny that Best Buy is the best electronics store near me but the car audio reps make me look smart I went over to the car audio section to look for possible future HU's and I heard a salesman trying to sell a Rockford amp to 2 guys. He was going on and on about how its the best amp around and it puts out "crazy" power. He told the 2 men that he is going to buy one and all his bosses have one..... Out of curiosity I walk up to the amp which is sporting a nice $600 dollar price tag I believe. He asks me if I want it and I tell him that I do so he could talk some more. He tells me that this beast puts out 300W*2 which he states is "real power, dont be fooled by the other companies giving you fake numbers speach." Right now im bewildered........$600 dollars for a 600W amp? I guess you pay a lot for the name. He tells me that i cant get anything better for the money and I ask him if he knows about Cadence among other things which are just as good but cost like 300 dollars less. He acts like he knows what Im talking about so I ask him which model of those amps could match the Rockford. This is the point where he knows he is officially screwed and anything he says will make him look dumb infront of two men. He tells me that not one of those amps can do what the Rockford does and put out such clean power. So I chuckle and tell him I hope you are joking and walk back to the HU section.
thats nothing...one time i had a salesmen ask me if i needed a box for the sub i was buying...i said no...im going to try and cram it into my pioneer house speaker cabinet...(wanted to watch a RF smoke) he said ok....well i brought it home....fried it on my home reciever...took it back and...got my money back....should have recorded it... next....one day i was looking for something...forget what....oh...looking at subs again cuz i wanted something for my house speakers(u know damn right well...kickers...audiobahns could not be ran with house equipment....considering they need 4-10 times the power your giving them) anyway...salesmen tried to ask me how much power i was feeding them i told him 100 watts....he said thats it....i said yeah...its off a home reciever bud...then he said...that your supposed to go by the rms power(holy shit they knew something)...then asked me what was the difference betweem rms...and peak...then asked if that 100 watts was a 'peak' rating circuit city on the other hand there not rocket scientists...but theyre better then best buy...i mean...when i getting into car audio...a salesmen told me how i could achieve a '2 ohm load' because back then (2 yrs ago) i didnt know...and about a week ago...i went to get a price on a remote starter....the salesman/installer told me EXACTLY how it works....every part what i needed and why...etc....he shocked me... also circuit city has better equipment then best buy....nuff said
CC is better, why TRAINING CC employees are TRAINED, and they are COMMISON.. The commision part makes the saleman WANT to know more that why they are better equiped to deal and make more $$$, where best buy hires the local high school students pays them 6-8 per hour (depending on where you live) and offers little to know training... Big Differance Now as far as equipment goes it all depends on what your looking at,
Just using Best Buy and CC from where I live the Best Buy outdues CC in everything. We just had a Best Buy open a few weeks ago and the car audio department is very impressive
I used to work at BB, in the car stero dept. Honestly, most of thew epople that work there only work there for the discount, to buy stuff for them, their friends, and for them to sell. The discount kicks ass, there, though. 5% over cost on everything in thew store. What is CC's discount? Is it as good? Yo, Civic, where are you from? A BB just opened around here too. In New Hartford, NY.
I live in East Brunswick NJ. The BB's are spreading like a virus......lol My friend works at BB so im looking forward to seeing the prices.
I work for Circuit City, and let me tell you, us here at CC make Best Buy look like Toy R Us. We constantly have people saying that are Car audio selection is better than BB. CC isn't a car audio God, but it sure beats Best Buy soundly.
