Port tuning questions

    I have a 12" Pioneer Champion Pro and the enclosure specs call for a 3" port that is 3.5" long. This seems rather small for this thing. Is the port large enough to avoid port noise and is it okay to variate from the recommended dimensions if the tuning frequency remains the same?

    if the port is flared it can help reduce port noise i believe.
