    Hi all,
    I am attempting to model and build a sub box for a Polk Audio db104 driver using BassBox Pro 6.22. The questions I have are as follows:

    1. The Normalized Amplitude Response should always be as straight as possible right?
    2. The Custom Amplitude Response should always stay as close to matching the Normalized Amplitude Response right?
    3. The Maximum Acoustic Power Should always be as close to a straight line as possible and slant off slightly to the left right?
    4. The Maximum Electric Input Power should always be as close to the Maximum Acoustic Power but with more of a steeper slant right?
    5. The Cone Displacement should always stay as straight as possible near your Xmax level peak right (looking like a sideways "s")?
    6. The Vent Air Velocity should at a steady line near the bottom of the graph but have a sharp spike near your box's F3 and then slope sharply back down to the straight line again right?
    7. The System Impedance should always stay at or above your drivers (Z) with a sharp spike or 2 as close as possible as you can get it near the box's F3 and the drivers Fs right?
    8. The Phase Response should always stay as straight as possible near the "0" above the +/-180 degree mark (looks like a strecthed out "s") going from 0 degrees on the +180 degrees down to 0 degrees on the -180 degrees mark with a gradual smooth slant with no spikes right?
    9. The Group Delay should always stay as straight and high as possible with a spike near the systems resonant frequency right?

    Sorry for the dumb questions but just want to make sure I am going in the right direction with my numbers and my plot graphs are showing me right on my designs.
    Thank you once again and I can't wait to hear this thing this week when I put it together.

    I am posting my design here for all to check out and post back suggestions and comments on wether or not I should build it and if it will hit real hard. I listen to a lot of gucci mane, plies, dj drama, ect....

    Driver Properties
    Name: db10 (4 ohm)
    Type: Standard one-way driver
    Company: Polk Audio
    Comment: DB Series
    No. of Drivers = 1
    Fs = 26.7 Hz
    Qms = 4.91
    Vas = 44.9 liters
    Cms = 0.24 mm/N
    Mms = 148 g
    Rms = 5.058 kg/s
    Xmax = 8.7 mm
    Xmech = 25.4 mm
    P-Dia = 215 mm
    Sd = 363 sq.cm
    P-Vd = 0.316 liters
    Qes = 0.409
    Re = 3.7 ohms
    Z = 4 ohms
    BL = 15 Tm
    Pe = 300 watts
    Qts = 0.376
    no = 0.201 %
    1-W SPL = 85 dB
    2.83-V SPL = 88.54 dB

    Box Properties
    Name:
    Type: Closed Box
    Shape: Cube
    Vb = 0.657 cu.ft
    Qtc = 0.628
    F3 = 5 Hz
    Fill = none

    NOTE: Be sure to enable the 12db octave under the car section of Bassbox Pro.

    This is a closed cube design and will be driven by an old pioneer 220 watt amplifier and placed in the center of the trunk area of a 4-door 1999 Ford Taurus. Currently I am using 2 Radio Shack Pro Series (CSW-800)'s in a closed slanted box with outer dimensions of 29" long x 9" bottom depth x 8" top depth x 6.25" rear height x 9.5" front height using the same amp as listed earlier and get great bass from it. A lot of younger kids that spend hundreds of dollars on their pre-fabbed enclosures can't understand how I got two 8" woofers to hit like they are doing and still sound so clean.

    By the way, the design I posted above for all to check out and give suggestions and comments on is a closed box in a cube form at 12"x12"x12". In other words a 12" cube using .75" MDF (.75" = 3/4").

    Sounds good!

    I finished the 12x12x12 sealed cube with the single 10" polk audio db104 sub and it sounds pretty good, only problem is, I don't have enough amplifier to push it good. So far tho it sounds good even the low tones vibrate the wood floor in my house on my home stereo which has 2 15" old kenwood 3-way tower speakers and it sounds almost as good as them 2 15".

    I am building this one next. It is a vented square of 12x12x12 with a 1" vent at 9" long using the same polk audio driver.

    I have attached the bassbox design for all to check out and comment on or give suggestions. Tell me what you all think and please comment on this design so I will know whether or not to put time into building it.
