Iv searched the threads and googled and found nothing about anyone building boxes out of lexan. I want to build me some boxes out of lexan but I really don't have the tools to build any thing like this so I was wondering if anyone built boxes out of this lexan stuff and could tell me how well it really works (does it flex really bad because I can only find half inch) also what iv found is it is fairly cheaper (if 1/2" lexan works compared to 1" plexiglass. Thanx

Never heard of anyone building a box from lexan. I know people build them with plexiglass. I built a box with part MDF and plexi. Think I used 1" plexi, but I dont remember.

Do you wanna build the whole box with lexan or plexi? Only thing I dont like is seeing the screws. It can be covered up with carpet and other material tho.

thats going to be one hell of a pricey box, and if you mess up your boned.

some kid on another site im on found sheets of lexan or plexi for 250 a sheet. i dont know if you care about money like i do, but thats too much to spend on materials if you ask me.

maybe do a reg box with a window to show off the subs?

What about some of those bandpass boxes with the plexi window for around $50 to $100? Are they any count for 2 p3d212 or will they make the box flex or even fall apart?

prefab band pass boxes are just meant to sound good on just a few notes to impress you in the store. to get the full potential from your subs in a bandpass it needs to be built to their specs.

i know a few guys that do the 1 to 3 ratio rule. 1 cube sealed, 3 ported and they seem to do very well. i don't know how to figure tuning tho.

im not 100% sure if it needs to be exactly a 1 to 3 ratio, but they whip em out quick and they all perform. by that i mean they get loud and low and sound pretty darn good on all sorts of music, not just rap. i listen to all types and have heard first hand what a real good band pass can do. even on low power.
