Model: DEH-P7000BT I can't get one particular USB drive to work on my head unit. I have tried (3) USB drives, two of which work fine, and a brand new one which does not. The one that does not work is an identical model to a previous one, but simply displays "Format Read" on the head unit. On the head unit, it recognizes the folders and the tracks (I can see the track number and folder, and can scroll through them, but it won't play). I have tried the following: 1) Formatted the drive (FAT32) 1a) Formatted both quick and long 1b) Formatted with different block sizes 2) Replaced the USB cable (from the unit to the passenger area) 3) Placed the exact same track on one working drive and the drive that does not work 3a) The track plays fine on the working drive, and simply displays "Format Read" on the broken drive I am completely out of ideas. The drive is brand new, and it works in (3) different PCs that I've tried without issues. Formatting of various types does not work. Again, this drive is the 'exact same' model as another drive which works fine. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance, Mark
I don't know if this will help or not, but I had the same issues with some mp3's that had "corrupt" jpeg album tags attached to the mp3 files. I cleared all of the jpeg images from the files and it played fine. I re-attached them, and it would not play, so I cleared them again, and re- attached them with different pictures (same pic, different version of album tags from the web) and it worked just fine after that. Thought that might be helpful.
