Outwitted, and still arguing?

I thought you guys might enjoy this thread. I have a kid that keeps arguing with me about output increases compared to power increases. He keeps arguing with me, but doesn't bring any new arguments to the discussion. I just don't get it.

Ask him if he knows about enclosure size's relation to overall subwoofer efficiency. I'll bet you we could both take that 50 watts compared to 200 watts and kick his ass in SPL and SQ... Of course, that would depend upon his prefab enclosure's internal volume :lmfao:

He lost all credibility at the point where he was talking about putting 1000w to a pair of RF punch subs...

That was entertaining though :) thanks :boxing:

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. And thanks for the help, and friendly comments.

Well since you guys liked that one, here's another one from a long time ago. Someone decided to argue with me when I said underpowering a sub doesn't hurt it. But at least in this one the guy realized he wasn't going to win, and didn't comment anymore. But the other one, the guy keeps coming back to argue.

im not gonna say anything...... but i think mr kephart has also been on losing sides of battles that i found very very funny :)

    however
    in this case
    you are both right

what! both right! impossible, not in flame wars!

Without changing the box size, and depending on the sub.... i would say there could be a pretty obvious change going from 50 to 200 watts, "to the average user"
thats my little disclaimer in there :D

not everyone is informed as much as we are
clipping the amp is the most pronounced issue i can think of, its the same situation that confuses some people into thinking that underpowering subs blow them

    oh yea, im back

You will have to explain this one. I know I have been wrong before in the past, but I always make sure to admit it. I know I have been involved in a couple arguments lately with a certain croud. But that is because they didn't read what I said. They twisted my words around. In those instances I, and many others, feel I wasn't wrong.

Boy I know how that feels, 90% of my non-technical posts over at CAF are twisted around and around and around

Yes, but Mike, you are twisted anyways :cat: :baby: :lmfao:

K!!! what the fuck is up? Ain't seen you around here in a dogs age.

Let's get some more of the CAF crew over here and get technical.... I need some good debates around here. Do me a favor K, Civic started an IDMax thread over here and in it we began a discussion on the design aspects of the sub. I assume since you went to the DLC meet you may have a bit of insight on the sub. Please, fill us in on any aspect you can.
