Looking to get some midbass up front cheaply. Considering using kick panels for components and use a 6.5" sub in the stock door location. i can't read into specs well as far as determining how well it would work in a door location. i'm looking at these. i think i can make all of them fit depth wise. I can also make that door location sealed if i need to instead of IB, but whichever works best for whichever sub https://www.madisound.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=45_228_256&products_id=847 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-832 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-907 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=292-2590 this one is 7", think it has 6.5" cutout dia? https://www.madisound.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=45_228_256&products_id=1511
Many of those woofers are 8-ohms so I would rule those out, unless you wire them parallel and then bridged to an amp. Also the door would need to be reinforced, a couple of layers of Dynomat (or equivalent) and maybe a 1/2-inch piece of MDF between the woofer and the door. The woofer would need to be mounted solid You my want to also consider the Earthquake SWS-6.5, it a really good woofer. Anyway, I like your idea. I'm sure it would work well
