I dont remeber the model of amp i have. But i think theory is still the same. When i got my system off my brother, there was a big (4"-5") coil inline of the speakers. I remebered in his truck, this system was loud. When i got it from him, i took the coil off. Ran the speakers for a total of 4ohms. Its alright now but i want more. In my head, i figured the coil is dropping the ohms and pulling more power. I have 3 12w6's. V1. dual 6ohm. The amp is about 400w at 4ohm and 800 at 2ohm(if i remember right). I can put the speakers at 1ohm, but i dont think it will handle it. If my thoughts are correct, that coil inline of the speakers was 4 ohm, then it would drop me to 2ohm and i would be sending 800w to the coil and the speakers. Take away some power because of the coil and i would still at more watts to the speakers..... ????? If this is true, then what and where do i get this coil?
