Hi, I'm a first time poster. I just recently replaced my Kenwood Excelon KRC-X858 (cassette w/ motorized faceplate) with a Pioneer DEH-4300UB. my question, or rather, problem-I have no REAR outputs from this thing. Basically the fader doesn't work, only front speakers. There's a setting (since this unit has 2 RCA outs) and one RCA can be switched between a regular rear out, or a sub out. The rear speaker out wires can drive a sub w/o an amp, or just the reg. speakers. The factory setting was to have the regular 4 speakers working, but they clearly are not. When I change the setting to remove the SW, I still don't have rear sound. From reading posts on the internet, lots of people experiencing the same thing with Pioneer, but no clear solution Is it just a problem with the user interface on this brand? The settings must be off, or just maybe, this unit is bad. But I've read EVERYTHING at least 3x, and I'm no novice to installing/car stereos, but I'm just about losing my mind. Any help would be appreciated.
i have the same HU. sounds like the HU is bad. I never had such a problem. Personally i would take it back and get a different HU, i never liked it, i hate the layout, the stupid control knob and its flashy generic LCD screen that even when dimmed blinds me at night. Plus when RCA'd out to amps, it sounds dull and lifeless unless you turn Loudness on. I only kept it this long cause i'll be getting a new car this summer.
