I have a Hyundai Accent 1.3i, year 2000 X. My car stereo installer at Halfords in the UK says it has no permanent live circuit, so the stereo head unit will always lose all its memories when the ignition is off. Is that true? Is there a way around it?

Not true, find an installer that knows what he is doing. The one your using is obviously an idiot.

The constant source behind the radio should be Red/Yellow or Orange /Black. Use a volt meter to find the right wire. DON'T take it back to your installer, he is an idiot. Find another one.

If that was the case then your stock headunit would lose its presets all the time also.
