    Hello,

I'm a noob when it comes to car audio. I just installed my first system a few months ago. It wasn't much. I just replaced the stock speakers and installed a new deck.

I have another vehicle that needs a new system. I have an old 92 Dodge 250 that is my work truck. I use it occasionally to haul stuff, go to the hardware store, etc. Right now it has an AM/FM stereo that gets one station and blown speakers. Pretty sweet.

    My plan:

Alpine iDA-X100 (I have this in my other vehicle and I absolutely love it)

Speakers - 6X9 in the door. Maybe something else behind the seat. That would have to be fabricated though. There aren't any factory locations. I was thinking about these http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_11637_Alpine+SPS-609.html

Amps - I have two older amps left over from a previous install (done by a shop) that I would like to use. Both are Orions.

    One is a cs200.4 (4 channel) 4 x 62 @ 4 Ohm 4 x 125 @ 2 Ohm 2 x 62 & 1 x 250 @ 4 Ohm 2 x 250 @ 4 Ohm SIGNAL PROCESSING Dual Low or High-pass 45Hz to 5kHz

    The other is a cs150.2 (2 channel) 1 x 75 @ 4 Ohm 2 x 150 @ 2 Ohm 1 x 300 @ 4 Ohm SIGNAL PROCESSING Continuously variable high pass (30Hz - 1kHz) or low-pass (30Hz - 2.5kHz)

I would assume that the 4 channel amp is sufficient for what I want to do. But I'm unsure about the 2 channel. It seems a little underpowered. Would it power say, 2 12" subs or 2 10"? Originally it was powering a custom enclosure for my old Land Rover that had 2 8" subs.

Also, I want to build my own sub enclosure. I like woodworking. It sounds like fun. What are some good online resources for learning how to build an enclosure? I downloaded WinISD. Is there any other software? General guides? Websites?

My budget for all of this is about $600. $270 for the deck. $75-100 for the speakers. $200 for the subs. I already have all the materials for make the box. Maybe a little bit more for extras to wire up the amps, but I've got lots of that stuff too.

    Thanks.

i have the same truck but mine is a 3500. i have a PA PS2-800 and a !3kv.2 sub whiich is a 12 and 6x9's in the front. cheap $100 pioneer deck. and it sounds great. you dont need speakers in the rear, cause they are pointless in these trucks.
