Hey guys. Can you drop the names of the top speaker manufacturers on the market today? My friend needs 6x9s all around and he has a fair amount of cash to throw around. He said he can dish out about 1 grand for speakers(4) and an amp. This of course includes installation and probably dynomat, though. Thanks in advance! P.S. he did mention that it was important that the speakers have some serious punch but I assume that at the right price they all do
punch?? sound??? it is all about the install...if a 1000 dollar set of speakers are not installed correctly they will sound like crap.
Granted. You did not answer the most important part of my question, though. Can you list the top speaker manufacturers so I can at least start researching this thing...
JL, Eclipse, Focal, Boston Acoustics, CDT Audio, Image Dynamics, Zapco, Infinity, Memphis, Polk Audio http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=868 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3109 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=893 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=5558 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=2969 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=941 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3020 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4122 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4958
Thanks mein. 1)Can you please tell me what the difference is b/w 2 way and 3 way coaxials? 2) Will my friend have depth in his sound or do you need to buy components for that? 3) I know my friend wants good bass response and he told me he is not planning on buying a sub. This is due to the fact that he has a convertible. Which one of these speakers are known for their powerful bass, if any. I know I know, they are speakers....
I am also displeased Azn, how dare you displease me, you may correct my spelling and my grammer, but you may not list Polk last ^_^ Bass from a 6 x 9 has to do alot with mounting. Dynomat around the surface area will help. If the surface that the speaker is mounted to is thin sheetmetal (the case in almost all cars), you need to reinforce that area. If there is room attach the speaker to an MDF ring that is attached to the mounting area. Remember, any vibration that you feel around the speaker is sound that is being absorbed. There is no real sound difference between 2 way or 3 way. In a convertable however I might lean toward 3 way. You should invest in an amp. Components would be a plus up front.
Ranger speaks the truth..... Might also look at using foam baffles and or custom enclosures behid the 6x9's to further enhance bass punch and low frequency extension....any speaker desigend to work in a free air enviorment will do very well in a small enclosure as a general rule of thumb.....
How come everyone jumps to conclusions. I did NOT name the brands in order of what I thought was best. I merely listed them as I could think of them. I know Polk rules them all...plain and simple
