Ok, I am not all into this type of stuff so I'm not sure how to explain my problem. My friend installed two new front speakers, and a denon c.d. player in my car, about six months ago. About two months ago, I started noticing this clicking sound (sounds like a mix of a busted speaker and a radio station that isn't quite tuned in). It makes this noise no matter what the volume, bass, treble etc is at. It also does it in either mode, cd player or radio. It doesn't make the noise all the time either. A short while after the noise started (and the speakers were checked ... not busted) the left front speaker started going on and off. Would come on less than 1/2 the time. Yesterday, both speakers stopped working. I turned the car off, then back on, and it worked for about five seconds and shut off again, the c.d. player keeps counting when a c.d. is in. I have no clue whats wrong. I've checked the wires connected to the c.d. player and they are all hooked up right, reconnected them all and still doesn't work. I don't know how to take the door apart to check the speakers. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?? How do I go about fixing it?? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would imagine your connections are coming loose on the speakers. If you are running an amp then it would be a loose ground.

welcome to the sport of car audio :D

I also think you have a bad ground. that would account for most of what was said. Before jumping to a conclusion like your cd player needs to be replaced., Id check all the wiring.

i've had many a pair of speaker do that before finally giving out on me....

how was it determined that the speakers were not "blown" .... it is possible to "partially blow" (ok, so i'm NOT being technical, but who cares) a speaker, and it will eventually give out on you...

but one good thing, you have a denon HU....and you're a girl....you should have no problem making friends in the audio world that would be more than willing to help you out

but yes, check grounds, try other speakers....narrow it down to one thing or another instead of looking at the whole picture at once
