Im starting to feel 2 6.'5's and tweeters up front isnt giving me enough volume to match up with the bass i want, at this moment i have 2 6.5's in my doors bridged on my 4 channel since i couldnt hear the back speakers at all and i needed more volume up front.. This worked great for a while but as time goes on we start to hear other things we didnt hear at first.. So would it be worth me doing some crafting and putting my other 2 6.5's up front but cutting down my wattage since there will be no bridging? I think 4 would be better but id like to hear some opinions! gogo!

i run 4 6.5s in my doors, and 4's in the dash. 4 tweets too.

i say do it, cross them over and have at it.

the sensitivity of the mids will determine how loud they will get. low s/n more power needed... higher s/n less power needed to get loud.

10 speakers 40 watts each roughly. = loud enough. :)

I think we spend too much time concentrating on subwoofers and not enough time on everything else. Many forget that there is more to car audio than bass.

Yes, a couple more speakers up front will really help out your ride. Even if you only wire them series to your existing speakers, you still will have a huge improvement. In my truck the centerchannel speaker serves two purposes, and one of those is to provide additional volume. And it really does provide alot of additional volume.

In this car, the additional 6-1/2s really helped out the high end.

Is it worth me busting my hump to throw 6.5's in the kick panels? Ive been wanting to do it for a while and since i want to add a couple more up front i think this mite be the best place to put it, whattaya think?

The Kick panel speakers really do help imaging, but keeping the door speakers also helps with the additional volume needed when we have alot of subs. In that Honda, a 2-channel Autotek powered the highs, including the four add on tweeters.

Yes four speakers up front will nake a HUGE difference.

I'll bet it sounds better than good. Can you say incredible? I'd love to hear it. I would love to add another set of 5 x 7s to mine. But I'm running out of room

lol... i've been considering adding 4 7in or 8in mid/midbass's to the doors. i have 9'' of width and easily 19'' of length to do it.

a .75'' sheet of mdf wrapped in grey vinyl would serve as the spacer needed for the top woofer.. i'd also add matching 4''s in the dash as well in a well dampened mini enclosure to isolate any cancellation from the rear wave of that mid.

right now im looking at dayton or tang bands.. still a ways away. i like to think my projects through. any thoughts on raw drivers?

And yes on some songs recorded right it sounds awesome to me. altho some of the speakers are showing their age.

I'm a teacher so I'll be off for two and a half months after next week. I actually have two 5 x 7s sitting in the garage. Hmmmmmmm.

I can hook the tweeters back up to the deck and use the tweeter amp on the new 5 x 7s. I wonder.
