I think I want to build a custom box for my 07 Mustang. The trunk space is very limited and the trunk opening is very small. I want to build a dual 10' sub box for my 2 kicker cvr 10's. If someone could tell me what I need to measure in my trunk I will get all the measurements. My trunk has this weird upward angle in the back 2/3rds of the trunk going up...towards the rear seats, and has a 3 inch metal bar running along the top of the trunk roof, making it a weird angle to put the sub box. If someone could also tell me what parts to buy. I think I need 3/4inch. mdf board, and wood screws and silicone. I am not gonna do fiberglass cause thats too complicated and out of my price range. Thanks

well, from what i seen on google they rnt near as small as behind the seats of a truck. It shouldnt be that hard to build a descent sized enclosure.

    I'd go vented...cvr10's don't need huge enclosures.

Is this a hard top or a soft top????

Its a coupe-hardtop. I think I want a sealed box to make it simple. My subs need .8 cuft min, 3cuft max sealed. If I do vented its 1.25min, 1.75max. I have no idea what size box I need. I kind of want it to go over that hump in my trunk floor, so like taking up the back half of my trunk. Is that going to be too complicated to build in that ramp thing?

building an enclosure is not complicated...the hardest part is designing it

Ok I guess when I get some time off, I will measure my trunk where I want the box to go. I think I have to build a weird angled box because of the weird hump in my car.

how high is the hump??? maybe we can build the box to have legs on each side to lift it up to right above or resting on the hump

So kind of like adding leg angles going the opposite way of the hump...so that way the box would still be square and flat? I'll have to measure it Wed. That's my day off. I will just measure everywhere I think the sub box can go, and the exact trunk opening so I will know if the box I build will fit. Get back with you guys on Wed. Thanks for the help

exactly...just adding legs basically so the box sits flat on the hump

Ok I Measured my trunk today. The trunk opening is 15.5 In. in length, 44 5/16 In. wide, and the other width is 24.5 In. in the front part of the opening. So I will have to angle the box to get it in. I want the box to go from the base of the hump up to the rear seats. Their is 16in of space their. I have about 39 in in the rear near the rear seats from side to side for the width, and about 43.5 In. in the front where the slope begins. At the top of the hump it is flat. I have only 12 In. of space from the flat part to the trunk roof, but at the front of the hump their is 19.5 to 20 In. of space from bottom to roof. Heres a diagram I made with my paint editor.

Anyone know how to build a box with alot of weird angles in it? The bottom of my box is gonna have to have two angles in it. The top of the box has to be slanted down alot...in order for it to fit in the very rear of my trunk.

box doesn't have to be pushed all the way back. In some trunks it is louder with the box pushed back towards the rear bumper.

Ya thats true, I just want it in the far back of the trunk, so I can still get my spare tire out without having to remove the sub box. If its in the rear past the lip of the hump, I can still get the spare out. For dual 10's can I build a box 12" tall, 34"wide and 8" deep?
