Today I took the whizzer cones off of some stock Ford speaker, turned them over and taped them to my chest. I then walked into my boss's office singing "Like a Virgin".

I then told him; "This is my impression of the porn version of the movie "Cone Heads".

I just really want to learn more about speakers...I'm on Nick's butt every week trying to learn one more thing about them...but he knows nothing

I'm just tired of speaker x vs speaker y and OT all of the time....

I'd like to grasp more knowledge about enclosure characteristics and how they interact with speakers and the "in car" environment...(on a more in depth look)

I would really be interested if maybe we can get a conversation going each week that takes a good look at one specific aspect/characteristic about speakers...without talking about llamas...

And I want to get with you about an SQ setup this summer....

Funny that you mention the whole "how they interact in your interior" aspect of things..
That's a favorite of mine. B)
I wrote a little something about how sound behaves in a car...
Starting with the "absolute phasing" article, and trying to apply that in a unique way in the "line source" install.

But I'm also pretty up on loudspeaker technologies...
Alternative technologies are also a favorite of mine.
Ever seen a plasma tweeter (sound from a mass-less flame), or a wave bending driver?
NXT has some interesting distributed-mode transducer technology also (non-pistonic).
And everyone knows I'm a servo driver fan (as opposed to servo feedback).

Honestly, that stuff makes the pistonic-motion traditional loudspeakers seem quite simple. B)

And I'm a sucker for ANY technical discussion. :lol:
